“I work in the interface of activism and contemporary art, using sarcasm as a tool to raise questions and awareness about the society and human behavior. I am open to the use of different medias and resources to achieve the visions I have for the projects I get involved with. Normally the end result takes some kind of a visual form.”
Hanna Arvela (b. 1981) works currently mainly with video, but her background is in comics, illustration and graphic design. She graduated Master of arts from Aalto university, studying visual culture and contemporary art & audiovisual storytelling and dramaturgy. Her works have participated and been awarded in international exhibitions and festivals, but she aims to exhibit also outside the institutional art scene.
